Silent Sundays

Here is the post I was talking about!

About a month ago, Amanda and I got the chance to take a Greyhound bus to Atlanta for the super-exciting request Rhiannon and Jamie made regarding us modelling for their Autumn/Winter 2011 Lookbook. If you somehow don't all ready know them, Rhiannon is a long time favorite fashion/vintage blogger who we have followed for years now, so it was the greatest surprise to be considered for this. Jamie is an amazing photographer and all around sweet person. Together they've put together the Vintage and Independent Designer online store Silent Sundays.

They took us to some absolutely amazing locations for shooting. My favorite being this old abandoned Mansion's greenhouse built in the 1920s. Other than the fact that it was huge, beautiful, and exactly the type of place I'd love to hang out and shoot in myself--the history was fascinating, as well. The mansion outside of this greenhouse was once a Mental Health Institution and there were signs of it's former occupants everywhere.

Modelling is not something I've ever confidently seen myself doing, so it was quite the experience! I really love seeing how Jamie and Rhiannon work together to make it turn out. (And obviously Amanda is a pro.) Look how darkly-magical Jamie's photos came out! Just the style I love.

Needless to say, it was such an honor to work with them and so much fun!

  2. already commented on liebemarlenes blog but this shoot is fantastic, you both look gorgeous and the location is superb (even better now you said it used to belong to a mental health institute).

  3. These are quite beautiful. The light and the odd colour is really captivating. You girls look pretty forlorn and melancholy...looks just about right for the set.
