Easter [in way too many photos]

My dad and his girl friend are so awesome, seriously. They arranged an Easter egg scavenger hunt around Nashville. It started up in this look-out tower, where we could see the city they'd hidden clues throughout.

Each egg had a clue that lead us to the next.

 "Mr. Carmack's view from the hill is good, but the boys within sight are bad- 

sit on the boys, look at the wall,

you'll find your next clue there, so your search doesn't stall."

This was a favorite.

"...Roses!" A Singin' in the Rain reference! So many props, dad. So many.

Then we had a picnic!

These were my contributions, but my dad's girlfriend brought everything from rice balls and guacamole to chicken tenders. So many random and delicious things, as always.

 A day to be joyous!

Little Treasure part 1

Yes, I am Nineteen. Yes, I am too whimsical for this planet.
But you have to love this.

There's a little shop in Wabash, Indiana called Reading Room. It is filled floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall, room-to-room, with old books. So many hidden treasures! Every time I visit, I am totally overwhelmed, yet it is one of my favorite places I've ever been into. And every once in a while you find something unbelievable.

The owner, Tom, is an older sweater-laden, grey-haired/moustached, self-titled "snob," when it comes to books. He knows where everything is in the mess. Like a spidey-sense, only with beautiful, dusty, old books!
We always hold conversations over Antoine De-Saint Exupery (who is one of his idols/the author of my favorite book.) No matter how many months it has been, he always remembers me for buying out all his copies of "Le Petit Prince" [The Little Prince] and he'll whip out whatever he's found, in the time since, on Iceland. Love.

Anyway, here are some pages from one of my favorite possessions. Found on, I believe, my first visit to this treasure chest of a shop.

In case you cannot see, this is a 1916 edition. Warm fuzzies in your chest?

The illustrations are apparently quite rare and obviously very beautiful.
I wish I could absorb this book into my worldly vision.

Not only illustrations, but music!

Such a wondrous story, I've always loved. This is the best interpretation I've ever come across and I hope to keep it forever. We may have no say in whether or not we grow old, but I'm taking the choice opportunity to not grow up to the end of it's reign. (...I will never grow up!)

The First of March

Another day off. Aka: another day desperate to find something to do.
So, after dropping my dad off for his bike ride yesterday, Amanda and I hung out at a park we'd never hung out at.

The weather was beautiful (which  most of you southerners know, because it's all anyone talks about) so we wandered around, jumping off of things, for photos.

Yeah, that's right. Digital photos.
I finally bought myself the Canon t2i and a little 50mm f/1.8 lens on Valentines day. Had a mini anxiety attack, but I think it will be worth it. If nothing else, we get to "enjoy" the sets of ridiculous photos I take on days like this. Unfortunately my computer is too far gone to process the videos (and basic functions.)

Anyway, I've been meaning to show off this dress for a while. It's pretty perfect. Rhiannon let me wear it during the Silent Sundays studio shots and I fell in love. It never got listed, so I asked about it last month, and it ended up at my door. I have worn it about two times a week, so far. Hopefully some better shots to come later.

The Perfect Valentine Wears

Kelsey Genna's new collection is just darling! Personally, I would wear these beauties any day of the year, but they seem especially fitting for Valentine's Day, or in my case- S.A.D.  I'm going to dress up in my fanciest duds, treat myself to some serious ice-cream-age, maybe buy myself some sort of meaningless trinket,  and come home to snuggle with my dog and watch Breakfast At Tiffanys. Jolly good fun!

Oh, just another collection I'll have to admire from afar! However, admire I shall. (or should I say adore? No. That is not funny, Kate.)

Anyway, look at these great photographs! My little artsy photographer-esque side can appreciate this part without ever spending my lost/found parking-lot pennies.

 So gorgeous! We well know; light and shadows are such muses to me.

I think the dress on the right is my favorite. Would love to add it to my dress-cycle. (Currently at a two-count.)

This reminds me that I am officially* ready for spring, after hiking in the dang-freezing wind, this morning. *note last post.

My favorite details of fashion collections are the lookbooks. Definitely what attracts me. I appreciate the artistic side to styling and how your wardrobe fits into the world's image and your own personal style. I'd really like more to do with it, photography-wise.

End of Winter Dream Post

I'm glad you guys have probably figured out by now that I don't actually keep up with anything. No pressure. I just kind of post about what I like, when I come across it and feel the need to do so. Keep it chill.
Speaking of, I'm patiently awaiting the spring time. And by patiently, I really do mean it. I'm quite okay with cozy layers, sleeves, and black tights. Regardless of the seasons, the temperatures here have been obscenely high all winter.
But I've decided to blog about this sort of in-between time in fashion, like a good "blogger" would do.

Here are a few items I'd love to romp around in, through the end of winter--and into the following warm months, of course.

Have I gotten over Swedish Hasbeens yet? No. 

That will probably never happen.

And then of course  there's always a special place for Secret Squirrel. And these pieces in their new collection are as charming as ever.

I'm sure there's lots more, but I'm awaiting that time where a season hits you really hard and you realize all the items you don't have that you could really use. Maybe then I'll be a good blogger or something.
