Kelsey Genna's new collection is just darling! Personally, I would wear these beauties any day of the year, but they seem especially fitting for Valentine's Day, or in my case- S.A.D. I'm going to dress up in my fanciest duds, treat myself to some serious ice-cream-age, maybe buy myself some sort of meaningless trinket, and come home to snuggle with my dog and watch Breakfast At Tiffanys. Jolly good fun!

Oh, just another collection I'll have to admire from afar! However, admire I shall. (or should I say adore? No. That is not funny, Kate.)

Anyway, look at these great photographs! My little artsy photographer-esque side can appreciate this part without ever spending my lost/found parking-lot pennies.

So gorgeous! We well know; light and shadows are such muses to me.

I think the dress on the right is my favorite. Would love to add it to my dress-cycle. (Currently at a two-count.)

This reminds me that I am officially* ready for spring, after hiking in the dang-freezing wind, this morning. *note last post.

My favorite details of fashion collections are the lookbooks. Definitely what attracts me. I appreciate the artistic side to styling and how your wardrobe fits into the world's image and your own personal style. I'd really like more to do with it, photography-wise.

End of Winter Dream Post

I'm glad you guys have probably figured out by now that I don't actually keep up with anything. No pressure. I just kind of post about what I like, when I come across it and feel the need to do so. Keep it chill.
Speaking of, I'm patiently awaiting the spring time. And by patiently, I really do mean it. I'm quite okay with cozy layers, sleeves, and black tights. Regardless of the seasons, the temperatures here have been obscenely high all winter.
But I've decided to blog about this sort of in-between time in fashion, like a good "blogger" would do.

Here are a few items I'd love to romp around in, through the end of winter--and into the following warm months, of course.

Arguably the most fantastic piece of jewelry I've ever laid eyes on. I'm actually slightly obsessed, if you can be only slightly obsessed with something. I might be a star hoarder.

Keeping with the theme/obsession as well as hinting at an exciting soon-to-be-purchase I've been planning with my short-term savings goals, this year. ;)

Have I gotten over Swedish Hasbeens yet? No.

That will probably never happen.

Also, these oxfords from Madewell are beautiful. Madewell is beautiful.

And then of course there's always a special place for Secret Squirrel. And these pieces in their new collection are as charming as ever.

I'm sure there's lots more, but I'm awaiting that time where a season hits you really hard and you realize all the items you don't have that you could really use. Maybe then I'll be a good blogger or something.

Yes, I realize this is a bit overdue. I have been sick and without a lot of internet access, but I think it's worth a post, regardless!

Firstly, I need to show you my 4 foot bubblegum pink tree smothered in beautiful sparkling vintage ornaments and little stars. (Which you cannot see, but they were there. Just imagine.) It was the greatest.

But, mostly, I want to show off this shirt Amanda made for me. She took the knowledge of my favor toward foxes and elbow patches, found a shirt on a great Asian website, painted me a fox, then transferred it onto said shirt all on her own. Such a cool and thoughtful gift. The best kind.

I apologize for the photo quality. The only digital I have on me, at the time, is my little phone. Hopefully that will change soon, but we'll see!

Silent Sundays

Here is the post I was talking about!

About a month ago, Amanda and I got the chance to take a Greyhound bus to Atlanta for the super-exciting request Rhiannon and Jamie made regarding us modelling for their Autumn/Winter 2011 Lookbook. If you somehow don't all ready know them, Rhiannon is a long time favorite fashion/vintage blogger who we have followed for years now, so it was the greatest surprise to be considered for this. Jamie is an amazing photographer and all around sweet person. Together they've put together the Vintage and Independent Designer online store Silent Sundays.

They took us to some absolutely amazing locations for shooting. My favorite being this old abandoned Mansion's greenhouse built in the 1920s. Other than the fact that it was huge, beautiful, and exactly the type of place I'd love to hang out and shoot in myself--the history was fascinating, as well. The mansion outside of this greenhouse was once a Mental Health Institution and there were signs of it's former occupants everywhere.

Modelling is not something I've ever confidently seen myself doing, so it was quite the experience! I really love seeing how Jamie and Rhiannon work together to make it turn out. (And obviously Amanda is a pro.) Look how darkly-magical Jamie's photos came out! Just the style I love.

Halloween

Long time without an update, I know! We've been waiting on a particular post, which should be up shortly. Until then, I thought I'd make a little post on our costumes from last night! Amanda and I have always wanted to festively hand out candy, since we're not part of those attending crazy Halloween parties (for now, anyway. You can invite me next year if you want to.) So, yesterday, we spent all afternoon running around looking for candy I'd be willing to give to children (and myself.) Organic vegan gummy bunnies and 100% ethically-traded chocolate, sweetened with beet sugar, it was! Ha!

Then we threw these together within literal minutes. Yes, we are good. Sorry for the point-and-shoot photo quality.

In the summer of last year, Kate and I were in Wabash, when we met up with Shelbie Dimond; a brilliant photographer and dear friend. She surprised us, not long before arriving, by asking us if we'd like to be in a music video she was making for a friend of hers.
We said yes, without really knowing what we would be doing for this video... turns out none of us really had a clear idea of what it would become, but naturally we found ourselves dancing! Hey, it was a prime opportunity to show off that Napoleon Dynamite move I had always wanted to flaunt. (Eh, I did it wrong and it ended up looking kinda pretty [probably why it wasn't tossed]) And ON TOP OF A WATERFALL! Don't get many chances like that!
It was a lovely day and I feel like this song is the perfect song to go along with these memories. This song is '"Back Then," by Drew Knight. Enjoy! :D

Amanda and I just got back from a week-long visit to Wabash, Indiana. It is my father's hometown and where we spent the first two years of our lives. It's also the first electrically lit city. I love it. So much history and little hidden treasures.

One of which is this antique store that we'd somehow never checked out before. It's arranged like a building full of junk. But the further you go up, the more amazing it gets. The ceilings are caving in, the floors are soft, the staircases are blocked off with CAUTION tape (yet still accessible?) There was a fire a couple stories up--honesty, I don't know how it's not condemned! There were rooms and rooms overflowing with vinyls. Thousands. You can't even imagine without seeing it. It was scary and beautiful!

We both really love wandering around this town. It feels so nostalgic. Print Shop Now Open!

Favorite Places in Nashville for Vintage

A list of some of my favorite places to shop vintage, all located in Nashville, Tennessee. Enjoy!

Hip Zipper

Located in East Nashville, I have to say, overall it's my favorite shop that sells primarily vintage clothing. The selection is pretty big and the prices are reasonable (e.g. dresses $20-$35, tops $10-$20), especially compared to many of the other vintage clothing shops in Nashville. The first time I visited Hip Zipper, I didn't like it at all-- I couldn't find a single thing I wanted to buy. I thought I'd never return after that experience, but lo and behold I did, and every time since the first visit, I've walked out with something!

Local Honey

After hearing so many good things about Local Honey, I walked into their shop for the first time a couple of weeks ago. They have a good selection of vintage, as well as a few items from local designers. The prices were decent (e.g. dresses were about $40+), but nothing to write home about. I found a few things I would have liked to own, but alas, my pockets were empty and I couldn't really justify spending $40+ on a dress at that moment. They did have some beautiful accessories, including some pretty floral crowns made by Lauren!

Savant Vintage Couture

Every time I walk into Savant, I am overcome with a feeling of awe at the beautiful collection of vintage the shop owner has for sale! Some of the most gorgeous vintage clothing these eyes have seen have been hanging on the racks of this shop. The prices are very expensive, the reason I have yet to buy anything from Savant, but perhaps I'll buy my wedding dress here or something?

Gas Lamp Antique Mall

Probably one of the best kept secrets... the Gas Lamp Antique Mall is located behind a Staples, making it hardly visible from the main road. It is HUGE and from the outside I never could have guessed just how large it is. There are hundreds of booths brimming with fantastic antiques, but you'll have to walk through the many hallways (they have 'street' names to help you out) of this treasure trove to find the booths selling vintage clothing-- and there are quite a few. One of my favorite spots!

Downtown Antique Mall

I have to admit, initially I was a bit put off by the outward appearance of the Downtown Antique Mall, but as soon as I stepped inside, i was pleasantly surprised! It's a very nostalgic and somehow calming place to be. Plus, it's never crowded. I found one of my favorite vintage dresses here-- in fact, it was the first vintage dress I ever purchased (a peach 40s dress, with beautiful beading and silk leaves-- i was also told the story of where it came from by the lady who sold it to me).

Nashville Flea Market

If you want a really good deal on a large selection of vintage, the Nashville Flea Market is your ticket! That is, if you don't mind A LOT of walking and have a tremendous amount of patience (the fair grounds are ginormous). There is a lot of vintage, but there is a lot more of everything else, not to mention-- a lot of junk. The flea market is held on the fourth weekend of each month.

Goodbye Girls

This shop is the cutest! Newly opened in a project being called the 'idea hatchery' in East Nashville. Basically, the idea hatchery is a collection of teeny tiny shops (seriously, the first photo shows the entire shop) that gives artists an affordable space to create/sell their ideas in a happenin' spot in town-- brilliant! Goodbye Girls is run by a pretty pair of young ladies and is the most affordable vintage shop I've yet to come across (many things at the prices you might find at Goodwill). They also have a small rack in the middle of the shop with new clothing, also very well priced. Naturally, they don't have the biggest selection of clothing, but what there is, is definitely worth checking out.

Pre to Post Modern

Retro, psychedelic, bright, kitschy, fun, adorable, colorful... words you might use to describe this highly enjoyable shop! Good times with good friends, enjoying all this shop has to offer...

Steven Alan Fall Lookbook

Do you hear that muffled whine? That is the sound of me weeping, as I give up on all things related to style and step out in t-shirts I've ruined with scissors, for the rest of my life. A little less literal, but you get the point. Here, my friends, is the beauty that is Steven Alan for the Autumn season. (The best season, obviously.)

The above photos feature a few of my favorite outfits in the current lookbook. Not to mention the perfect single items not shown here (shoes and button-downs *drool*). If I could promise my entire life's wardrobe devotion to one place, I would probably choose Steven Alan. At least in this temporary moment of weakness. Too bad their items are about 10x more than I may be able to afford. Oh, how trivial the budget!

At least I can still dream out loud via text via blogging via the internet.

It Happened One Night (1934)

One of my very favorite movies! Starring Claudette Colbert and Clark Gable-- I couldn't think of a better pair to play their parts. 'It Happened One Night' is about an heiress named Ellie (Claudette Colbert) who runs away from her overbearing father and his attempts at convincing her to annul her recent marriage to King Westley. When she can take no more of his griping, she jumps the boat she was forced onto and attempts to take a bus to New York, back to her husband. Along the way, she runs into Peter Warne (Clark Gable), an egocentric ex-news reporter, who recognizes her immediately. Aware that her father is looking for her, he gives her two choices-- as a man stole her money earlier, he agrees to help her get to Westley if he can write an exclusive on her, or he'll give her up to her father. She agrees to the first choice and the movie follows them through their adventures to arrive in New York... (did i make this sound exciting?!?! well, if i didn't, you should watch it anyway!!)

Amanda and I just had the wisdom teeth dug out of our skulls, yesterday, so I'm all kinds of hideous and swollen. In other words, I refuse to step outside of this house! (As if I had the choice.) So I thought I would take this time to introduce you to a wonderful etsy shop [read on] that I think you should really enjoy!

This is my beautiful best friend, Chrissey Hanson. She took us around Nashville to do fun things, a few days ago, for our Nineteenth birthday. (This is when I took these photos!)

At the grounds behind the historic Belle Meade Plantation. (You can't really tell, but Amanda's wearing a great 70's floral midi skirt, she found at goodwill. We'll have to shoot some more with it later. So awesome!)

Madewell Fall Lookbook

All right, so I have this guilty affinity for Madewell clothing. I own not an item from them, but find myself browsing through their website almost daily. That's kind of sick, isn't it?
Anyway, this morning I got a newsletter e-mail from them announcing their Fall 2011 Lookbook. I checked it out and I am drooling (figuratively, of course) over nearly every piece.

Hannah & Landon Metz

I first discovered this lovely pair through their shared Flickr site about 2 years ago and fell in love with the soft candid shots and Hannah's style of attire. After ogling over Hannah's outfits for so long, I finally came across her and her partner Elvia's shop The Loved One, where they sell their vintage finds and was thrilled at the prospect that I might own something chosen by a girl who's personal style I greatly admire (hurrah for girls with ogle worthy styles who sell vintage clothing!)

So, anyway... to the main point of this post! Stylelikeu visited Hannah and Landon's home, where they took a series of photos and did an interview with them (which I've posted below) and I felt compelled to share a few of my favorite shots. They are both incredibly inspiring and truly seem to be two fantastic old souls!

Secret Squirrel's 'Botanica'

Secret Squirrel's Spring/Summer collection 'Botanica' is my favorite of theirs yet! Inspired by plants-- they used silk to mimic the petals of flowers and drew inspiration from flower pressings-- how lovely. I honestly love everything to pieces and had the hardest time choosing which outfit photos to post... so, I chose just about all of them (you may become overwhelmed by the bountifulness of beauty) . Anyhoo, a while back Rhiannon had a contest in which someone could win a $300 voucher to Secret Squirrel's shop and I somehow won. O_O Eventually I'll need to choose one or two things that are best for me, but in the meantime I'll just fantasize about owning this entire collection!

Flashbacks

Amanda and I spent some time with our cousin, Shelby, this past week. Obviously we used her as a model. She's really great at it and it's always wonderful to have a different face. (I'm sure you're all sick of ours. Or mine, at least! ha. ha. Don't respond.)

She's also quite the trooper. She doesn't oppose to getting wet, dirty, and bitten up for the shot. Which is something we appreciate way more than we should be willing to... (Thanks Sheby!)

We got to shoot on a boat her dad (our uncle) restored from the 1940's! We were obsessed with it. We even had a picnic inside.

Anyway, we tried to style her to fit. These are some of my shots.

Stayin' Classy

The town we grew up in has been renovating it's old downtown theatre for years now. It was originally established in 1937, but was shut down a few years ago. Anyway, it's now officially done and tonight was a street party in it's honor. They blocked off the surrounding area, built a little festival, and had old movies such as "Swing Time," "The Wizard of Oz," and "Godzilla" playing on the streets. There was even music and some swing dancing!
A few people dressed up for the occasion. Naturally, we did. Carpe diem!

This is the back detailing of a dress I found at The Hip Zipper, in Nashville, on the day I blogged about a while ago. I didn't buy it then, but we went back a few weeks ago, when Amanda and my dad's girlfriend convinced me to try it on. It's loose, but seriously, what a trap! I already loved it!
Amanda hemmed it a bit (thanks A-man) and I wore it with my favorite little velvet bag and some short-heeled 40's shoes I acquired through Etsy a couple years ago.

Amanda wore a silk dress she borrowed from the shop.
Her shoes are vintage Ferragamo. The bag was found at Goodwill, the other day. It's not old enough to fit the attire, but this wasn't a costume party.

Or ...who am I kidding?

A perfectly lovely Spring/Summer collection from Pull & Bear! Full of light and billow-y fabrics, cut simply, with just the right amount of femininity. After looking through their campaign photos, I can't help but want to spend a day with friends down at some lake, canoeing, picnicking, and the like. Honestly, I always get the urge to do these things in warmer months, but I surely wouldn't mind wearing outfits like these!

The Red Shoes

After hearing wonderful things about the 1948 film 'The Red Shoes', I decided to watch it a few months ago. I loved it so much, I re-watched it and made a few screen caps for you all to enjoy and to hopefully encourage you to watch it yourself. Basically, it's about Victoria Page, a young ballet dancer, and her pursuit to become a prima ballerina. There's certainly more to the story, but I won't delve into it much deeper... you'll just have to watch it yourself.

The entire film was absolutely gorgeous, with the most stunning set designs and costumes. Psshh... I would wear Victoria's performance dresses out regularly! Not to forget, the dancing (duh)-- it was lovely and makes me wish I had not given up ballet when I was just a naive young-ling. Anyway, prepare yourself for many screen caps-- like I said, the film is gorgeous!

Nadinoo Spring/Summer '11 Collection!

Nadinoo's Spring/Summer collection has arrived-- brimming with pretty floral fabrics, pastels, and sailor inspiration! I really can't imagine anything more perfect for the Spring season... makes me feel nostalgic. Not to mention, I suddenly have the urge to prance through a remote field of flowers, somewhere in the countryside (Switzerland comes to mind *flashbacks to Heidi*). Ah, and doesn't everything just look so fresh and airy~ Mmmm...

Sunday Treasures

Today was nice! My dad's endlessly-kind girlfriend took Amanda and I to lunch at our favorite vegetarian restaurant--where we split a grilled tempeh, avocado, "veganaise" (and sprouts? I forgot) sandwich--with a side of hummus. It was perfect. She also bought me an iced almond-flavoured rice milk latte, at the coffee shop next door. (She gives us too much!)

Following this lovely meal, Amanda and I went to a little thrift store in East Nashville called "The Hip Zipper," which we'd been to once before, with no luck. I don't know why, because we really enjoyed it today. It's just what I would have pictured when hearing "thrift store," before ever having visited one. (Running on visions of movie sets and vintage-themed imagination...)

Anyway, we each found something wonderful for the shop and will list those items soon!

I also found this leather bag and couldn't walk away without it... I was attached at first site. I love that it combines my preferred darker style with the bit of floral that I also frequent. It has three full compartments, two zipper-pockets, and two more open pockets. (Things could actually get lost in there!) But the details are what make it such a beautiful find. It also came with a slightly-yellowed tissue and a hard candy that appeared to be older than myself. Bonuses! Huzzah!

Later Amanda and I walked through the park, to another park, where they have Steeple Chase. We spent a good two and a half hours outside, walking, lying in the grass and having a "snack picnic."

Even though I am uncomfortable being the victim in front of the camera, Amanda got a few photos of me in the dress I bought with a gift certificate I won from a drawing, a favorite blogger, Rhiannon (Liebemarlene) did! It's something I wouldn't normally get for myself and it has a really full circle skirt that is fun to wear. (I won't go into detail...)

I discovered Louise's creations just yesterday and was captivated by them-- enamored by the stories they tell and the idea that they carry memories. Though they're not meant to be wearable, they are certainly inspiring!

Nadinoo Muse- Becky Filip

We were so delighted to see that Nadinoo chose Becky Filip as one of their muses-- can't say we were all that surprised though, seeing as we've both been long time fans of her lovely, vintage-inspired style! We were equally excited that her brother Simon shot the photos for this feature-- who's magical photography has been an inspiration ever since our discovery of it just over a year ago. And Nadinoo! I discovered their clothing last Spring and have been in love ever since. I am thrilled for their Spring/Summer '11 collection to be revealed!

Though I would certainly be happy getting any of these pieces that were given to Becky, I am particularly fond of the sixties-esque dress, pictured above! I just love peter pan collars, which coincidentally, I have none of, and am finding out more and more each day of my love for the 60s. The other dress must also be mentioned for it's perfect 50s shape... also one of my weaknesses, with it's cuffed sleeves, full skirt, and waist tie. Oh, I might as well say something about the cape now! Though I have never owned a cape in my life and for some reason, am a bit intimidated by them, this one is quite lovely. Actually, it may just be the prettiest cape I've yet to see... (It's Kate's favorite piece.)

Spring is approaching and, like a virus that comes around each year at this time, I've once again the longing to wear lighter, flow-y, floral printed things. So, to get you pumped about Spring and to hopefully get a bit of this girl-y, frill-y mess out of my system, I'll be posting a few of my favorite Spring-y inspirations and clothing items! I'll try to refrain from speaking too much about why I love these things and just let the photos speak for themselves...

Lyell Fall '09 Collection!!! swoon

Although old news, I'm still very much in love with this Fall '09 collection from Lyell. Actually, I'm probably even more inspired by it now than I was when it first came out. I think that, especially in the Spring time, I gravitate towards more girl-y things (e.g. florals, pastels, tea party-esque dresses), but I feel as though i am slowly growing out of this phase and am wanting to wear simpler, more menswear inspired outfits. That being said, I think this collection perfectly molds the menswear/feminine aspects that I love most into one mind-blowingly perfect bunch of clothing! I also think these kinds of outfits would be ideal to wear this time of year, during this weird transition from winter to spring, when the weather is bi-polar and you never know if it will be snowing or 60 degrees out.

I especially love the scalloped edges that are carried throughout many of the pieces in this collection-- everything just seems to go together so seamlessly! I am also loving anything silk, velvet, or wool right now and this has it all. Not to mention, I am a sucker for a good Peter Pan collar.

Sadly, Lyell is no longer making new clothing, but you can still snatch up a few of their pieces here and there. I'm ordering a pair of wool shorts of theirs (on sale at Urban Outfitters) and will, no doubt, be putting together an outfit with them shortly after arrival! blablabla just take a look at these beauts!!

I cannot begin to fully express my love for this movie. Ever since seeing it in the theatre, a few years ago, (which was entirely vacant, apart from Amanda and I) it's been my all-time favorite. I don't care if you might find it childish or think lesser of my judgement! It is a must-see, for me, with every season.

Firstly, the set design is beautiful. Every bit is charming and pleasantly whimsical. I adore her room and my alter-ego equally adores the city-apartment of James McAvoy's character. Each scene is catered to my taste. And Penelope's wardrobe is so quirky and adorable, but in a totally acceptable way. I want it!

The characters are admirable and sweet. (You can't complain about the cast, either.) And the storyline leaves you feeling up-lifted, rather than the darker moods I often gravitate to.
(Not to mention the addition of Sigur Rós's Hoppípolla, at the finish.)

What has to be at least a dozen watches later, I still can't imagine ever tiring of it.
And that's really saying something, coming from someone who can hardly sit through anything.

I want to live in this movie. I want this to be my life.
Please give it a watch, if you haven't already! I quite clearly regard it in the highest.

Yesterday afternoon Kate and I decided to tag along on a hike, neither one of us having brought practical shoes-- we eventually wandered off onto another path hoping to avoid walking the rest of the 2.5 miles. I usually wear proper shoes for such an adventure but, as you can probably tell, I'm not really wearing proper clothing either. This often happens, everyone else is wearing athletic clothing or shorts and a t-shirt, and i'll be wearing a dress/skirt and tights. Really though, skirts are much more comfortable in my opinion-- breezy ++ no chafing! Anyway, we stopped to take photos at this spot in the woods and spent the next hour or so doing this rather than getting exercise and I ended up with a hunk of muddy moss on my face <-- However, this was partly my fault... i dug up the moss hoping to use it in a photo somehow, but Kate beat me to it and decided she wanted me to put it on my face. This explains the dirty face in the photos taken later that day (i'd forgotten to wash my face.)

Hair Accessory Ideas

Here are some hair accessory ideas that I've sketched in my notepad. Very rough ideas, at the moment. Anyway, I thought I'd post them here to see what you all thought (and to hopefully motivate myself to actually make them)! I was trying to go for some Spring-y designs, seeing as it will be Spring before we know it and as I'm terribly lazy when it comes to actually making my hair piece designs, it may just be Spring before these come to life! :D

Une Femme est une Femme

A couple of weeks ago I discovered Une Femme est une Femme- a french film from the 'New Wave' period in the 60's. I instantly fell in love with the characters, one being the lovely Anna Karina, as well as her clothing in this film. Her style is simple and seemingly effortless, but oh so elegant! I particularly loved her brightly colored tights, blue velvet hair bow, striped pencil skirt, and the way she wore her hair--especially how it was always perfect... even after just waking up. The next day, I broke out my bright red tights, pairing them with a high-waisted pencil skirt and sweater, inspired by Karina's character in this charming and hilarious film!

Amanda and I were just conversing of our amusement towards the Introduction post. She spent so much time putting this all together (which I had no idea about) so I will put forth some effort, as well!

I recently shot a stop motion featuring a fantastic dress that Amanda has listed in our shop. I am totally envious of it and wish it fit me so that I could steal it... but alas! some other, much luckier, girl gets the chance to snatch it up.

Hello! So, we're both new in the community and thought we would introduce ourselves and explain how we found ourselves here.

Our names are Kate and Amanda. We're twins and are 18 years old, living in middle Tennessee. We're both very much into photography, which comes in handy, seeing as you need an eye for beauty in this, but we also know the ropes for taking photographs in our hobby of collecting vintage clothing and selling them. We are both owner's of a shop called A World In Reverse, on Etsy, where we sell vintage clothing and vintage-inspired hair pieces; hand-made by ourselves. This was our inspiration to start this blog in the first place--to share the vintage pieces and hand-made hair accessories with all of you, as well as post some of our current style inspirations and daily outfits of our own.

As for myself, I know I started to fall in love with vintage style when first discovering the charm of old movies, at about the age of 13. It all started when my dad took me and my siblings to an outdoor movie in a small country town. People would gather every summer, on the weekends, and watch these old classic's shown at the pavilion there. There was something very quaint and magical about it to me and I begged to go every weekend. I didn't necessarily get into the clothing aspect of the movies, just the feeling of nostalgia when viewing something long passed. I've always been fascinated by history and started frequenting antique shops around that time. I became interested in photography and started noticing the fashion aspect of it--what people were wearing in photos--and how that provoked a certain mood. I also started following fashion blogs, my first inspiration being Rhiannon's blog- Liebemarlene, still one of my favorites. Many of the friends I've made through posting my photography on Flickr are also very much into fashion and are a constant inspiration. So, I was influenced by all of this! It all just sort of went hand-in-hand for me. Anyway, here I am today, now adding vintage pieces to my own wardrobe, as well as scouting out some beauts for others to add to theirs!

My passion for vintage style has clearly impacted my graphic design work as well, which you can find here.
